Where shall I emigrate?

I voted for Hillary in the primaries. She will always be my man, but I am a firm Obama supporter. I praise his name, I’ve donated money, I do what I can.

If the bible is true and the mark of the beast, Mc666n, wins the election in November, I must emigrate. I have narrowed it down to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or Great Britain. I don’t do well learning a new language, so this limited my selection.

I am reminded of a lyric in “Black Boys on Mopeds” by Sinead O’Connor:

And I love my boy and that’s why I’m leaving

I will have to do some research on work visas. I hope it doesn’t come to that. Because I love my country, and I hate airports.

  1. I vote for all of them… you should just travel around the world and work here and there for oh say 6 months at a time, then in 4 years you can come back! Besides I think that would be an excellent use of that $700B ;)

  2. My American husband loves Canada, and it’s a bit easier to get into than Australia and New Zealand (not much, but a bit). It’s definitely cold most places though- there’s that to consider.

  3. Canada. All the way.

  4. I lived in New Zealand and loved it. Nice weather and amazing people. So accepting. A good gay scene and the country is so well organised it will astound you!

  5. Canada is probably the most American friendly place you could go. Emigrating to any of your other choices is going to be a lot more work. If you stay long enough to get naturalised as a Canadian, it’d probably make getting to Great Britain easier, although as a Brit myself, I want to emigrate to Canada, so it’s back to recommending Canada as a home country. You can always visit the others- I highly recommend it. Just don’t live here if you have the choice.
