Twitter Oops

I love Twitter oops. And by oops, I mean the plural of the word. I am not sure what the plural of oops is. Oopses? Oopsi? So I’ll leave it as oops.

You know what a Twitter Oops is. It is when when one of your Twitter friends uploads a tweet that makes no sense at all, and then you realize he or she was intending to send a text to someone else, but sent it to Twitter instead. This is a sure sign of addiction to Twitter, and I have posted plenty of Twitter oops myself.

You’ve seen (and typed) them:

  • I love you.
  • See you at 6:30.
  • Okay.
  • Is your homework done?
  • Will you bring me up the tuner?

The first two or three times I made a Twitter oops, I deleted them. But then I thought, what the hell, it adds to the experience. I love reading Twitter oops from others, so I’ll leave mine.

My daughter’s name starts with the letter T, so I changed my Twitter entry in my phone to AATwitter, so it shows up first. This helps me avoid many Twitter oops, but now when people see my phone list, they see the AA….and turn around quickly, thinking I must have my AA sponsor listed on my cell phone (I don’t have an AA sponsor…maybe I should?).

Twitter should make another little icon so we can save our favorite Twitter oops to a separate page, and all of our other friends can see them too. And to all of my Twitter friends, “keep on oopsing.”

  1. I’ve also accidentally sent intended twitters to people instead of twitter. As result, I once informed my bf that I was about to see a movie with him. While we were there, together, at the theater.

  2. sometimes i like to add my own twitters to danette’s twitter account. that is a different kind of oops, I suppose…but a BIG oops when she discovers what I did and I have to take cover!
