Trying Not to go Crazy

Do you ever feel like you could really and truly be going clinically crazy? My fantasy is that after I get my daughter raised, I could go live in a cave, of course temperature controlled, no bats, and wired for high speed everything electronic. And stay there forever. I could have groceries delivered to me. I would connect to the outer world via internet and HDTV. My daughter could visit with her spouse and children whenever they wanted. I could teach them spelunking. And I would be the coolest grandma on the mountain.

Until then, I have bills to pay, responsibilities to keep, and other grown-up like things to attend to. And when I look at the big picture, I actually realize I just need more sleep, more time for myself, and for my brain to shut off every now and then.

  1. I have a friend who’s living your dream in his mother’s attic. I call him my little flower in the attic.
