The Mormon Church Makes Me Laugh
Earlier this week the Mormon Church posted its position on new alcohol laws in Utah. Yes, they run the state and whatever the Mormon Church says, goes.
I am laughing because in the very last paragraph of this statement, one reads
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes that Utahns, including those who work in the hospitality industry, can come together as citizens, regardless of religion or politics, to support laws and regulations that allow individual freedom of choice while preserving Utah’s proven positive health and safety record on limiting the tragic consequences of over consumption of alcohol.
The Mormon Church supporting individual freedom of choice? I guess that is why they are pouring so much time, effort, and money into making sure homosexuals can’t marry in California (or anywhere). That Mormon God just keeps changing his mind.

Even they have to bow to the Almighty Dollar, and Utah takes a massive tourism hit because of our weird liquor laws. The Church knows where its priorities are. I feel some “revelation” coming on.
At least they may stop screwing with my ability to have a drink easily. To me, that’s a huge step for them.
Why is it that the “religious” in this world are always putting folks down, changing laws for their benefit, etc. all in the name of Jesus Christ? I’ve just never understood this…
I remember when they try to get me to convert. I just wasn’t having it. When I see them coming on their bikes I go the other way.
The statement should have read: “to support laws and regulations that allow individual freedom of choice when it benefits the the church, and doesn’t include the homosexual population”. So do you suppose this also means that we’re going to start seeing liquor sold in the grocery stores like any other normal state? Hell no. All this has to do with is doing away with private club membership shit and nothing else.
I have LOTS of friends who are addicted to alcohol! Ya that’s right I said addicted. They couldn’t make it a week without it if they tried. I completely agree with the Mormons stand of Freedom of Choice. If alcohol is controlling you, where’s your freedom? If cigarettes or other drugs or sex or pornography control you and your life, where’s your freedom???
