Sideblog: I try to be appreciative
Posted on March 23rd, 2008 by Sterkworks
I try to be appreciative for all that I have. For all that I am. For all the potential that is waiting to be discovered. For the good and great things in my life. For my many blessings. And I feel guilty when I want something I don’t have. I feel guilty when I whine. I feel guilty when I know there is more, and I want it. Does this make me greedy? Does this make me unappreciative? Or does this just make me human?

I vote for human. And I don’t think you should feel guilty. Everyone wants some things they don’t have. If you didn’t, what would be the point of living? (The meaning of life is always to strive for something, in my book.) Everyone whines sometimes, and it’s ok. When you make whining the norm, then it’s a problem, but it’s ok to whine from time to time. The key is just to keep things in perspective. It’s fine to want things as long as you are also content with what you have. It’s the people who are insatiable who have a problem.
