Mormon Wieners

I ate Mormon wieners for dinner tonight.

Family comes first, and all of my family is Mormon. That means I go to Mormon baptisms, baby blessings, and in the near future missionary farewells. And my sister always invites my daughter and me to her ward parties (she is in charge of them). Sometimes I help her get things ready, and sometimes like tonight, I just go and eat. Hey, free food.

I think that should I ever get married, my sister and her husband would be the only family members to attend. They don’t agree with the “lifestyle” but love me and want me to be happy.

Tonight my daughter found one of her classmates who happened to be in my sister’s ward, so I hung out all night with my 12 year old nephew. He had double foot surgery yesterday and is doing amazingly well.  So sad however that he doesn’t truely appreciate the Loritab he is on. I protected him like a baby cub.

I told my nephew before the surgery that the two weeks he would be in the wheelchair, he would be a chick magnet. He knew it. He grinned, knowing the pain would be worth the attention from the fairer sex.

I pushed his wheelchair home a couple hours into the event because it was 100 degrees (how do Mormons wear their underwear, neck to knee, in that kind of weather) and we wanted some cool air. At his house I realized I would have to pull his wheelchair up three stairs to get into the house. I tested it first to make sure I had the strengh to pull 140 pounds of body and chair safely, and then did it. I felt so butch.

And the entire night reminded me of the sentiment, being in the world but not of the world. My take on it is being near the Mormons, but not of the Mormons. It works for me.

  1. I need an explanation about “Morman Weiners”.

Also, what is this about long underwear, is this what my grandma always referred to as “garments”. She never would tell me what that really meant. ( My grandma is a converted Mormon).

Explain to the nosy blond please.

  2. Mormon wiener is very bland.
