Hillary Clinton and my Parents

Being too dizzy to drive yesterday, my parents took me to lunch. I called, knowing that Friday is their pizza day, and somehow, pizza seemed like the perfect cure for numb-headed dizziness. (Why can’t Fat Doctor be my primary care provider?) Of course they invited me. They are like that (they even paid).

It must be true love when a parent pays for lunch for their daughter when she is everything that drives them crazy: non-Mormon, Democrat, Lesbo, single-mom, working woman, and most abhorrent….someone who will vote for Hillary Clinton.

I usually don’t talk to my parents about religion or politics. What would be the point in that? They are happy. Leave them alone. I would never change their positions, nor them mine. But somehow yesterday, my mother asked who I was planning on voting for. How did we get on that topic? Oh yes. My father asked me if I ever watch Jay Leno (no). He said on a segment of Jay Walking, Jay asked college students to name presidential candidates and they could name Democrats but no Republicans (what is wrong with that?).

So that led to my mom asking who I was planning on voting for. “Hillary Clinton…unless the nominee is someone else.” Oh my. If my mother was prone to profanity, which she isn’t, she would have used the “F” word. All I remember is her calling Hillary a lier. Hmmmm. I replied, “well, she is a lawyer.” My mother’s response…”NO a LIER.”

Yes, I heard you mom. But dad hates lawyers, so I thought they would both pick up on that, but no.

Wow. Another arrow to add to my quiver. A non-Mormon, Democrat, Lesbo, single-mom, working woman, Hillary supporter. Will all of that fit on my tombstone? Luckily, my daughter or sister will have to decide that one.
