Michael Steel Asked For My Input

by Sterkworks on October 24, 2009

Because of my “high level of political involvement and steadfast commitment to the Republican Party,” Mr. Steele, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, sent me a letter today. I am one of the few in my district to receive

one of these letters and surveys. Wow. I am honored. Of course I filled out this survey and will send it back. I would do so even if there wasn’t a stamped return envelope with the letter and survey.

Michael SteeleLet me share with you some of the highlights of the survey.

From what media source do you regularly receive your political news? Well of course I had to mark MSNBC. My lesbian girl crush on one Rachel Maddow ensures that MSNBC is my news source of choice. And if I was straight, that crush would be on the ever so handsome Mr. Keith Olbermann. Either of their programs would be, in a phrase spoken by Jack Donaghy this week, considered a “lefty homo erotic propaganda hour.” Just my type of programming.

The top three issues that I believe are most important to the people in my area? No, I will tell you what is important to ME. Most people in my area aren’t taking this survey, now are they? I hope Mr. Steele likes the festive pumpkin color pen I used to write-in “End don’t ask, don’t tell” and “Repeal the Defense of Marriage Act” into the response section.

My take on social issues? I oppose school prayer, the banning of burning the flag, faith based initiatives, banning all abortions, and prohibiting homosexual marriage. Human cloning? I am ambivalent on that one. There must be some wiggle room, after all. I don’t want to appear to be one-sided.

I am glad Mr. Steele asked for my opinion. I do vote. In fact, I am a registered Democrat, voted for Hilary Clinton in the primary election and Barack Obama in the national election. What amazes me, is that as a hot marketing babe, I know that the LIST selection is as important, if not more, than the message or manner of delivery of a message. I guess the National Republican Committee assumes everyone in Utah is a Republican.
