Fighting Off Agoraphobia
Recently, I have decided that when I retire, I will be perfectly fine being agoraphobic. Never leave my house. Have everything delivered to me. Wired for the outside world to order groceries, communicate with others, have a life.
However, I was invited to participate in “Live Blogging Thingy ‘08″ which was held today at the public library in Salt Lake City. Two men invited me to attend and I considered it. One woman bugged me about it and I immediately said yes. You just know a woman can get me to do anything a man can’t.
It was fun. The bloggers seemed exactly as I had expected from reading their blogs. They were fun, and naughty, and heart-wrenching, and smart.
I read my post, An Odd List of Gratitude. I decided on that two minutes before I was to present. And for some save-the-trees-and-don’t-waste-paper kind of way, it didn’t even occur to me to print out a post ahead of time to read. So of course, halfway through my reading via computer, Firefox crashed on me (the very first time, by the way). Oh well.
A very worthwhile day, and maybe a step in realizing that I don’t have to be agoraphobic when I grow up. That there are indeed things worthy of leaving the house for.

You were awesome!
I’ll try and edit the video so we won’t even notice the small technical problem. :-]
Sounds like you had a great day, that’s awesome! So which one of those attractive women in your pic talked you into going?! (Just a rhetorical question.)
Oh, by the way, you can’t be agoraphobic, you have to come to Jersey sometime so we can hang out, eat sushi and drink some good shiraz! Enjoy your day off!
I know I only met you for a few minutes yesterday but I think you are far too hilarious to turn agoraphobic…though I certainly understand the desire. There are a lot of irritating people out there.
I’ll bet it was awesome. tell me more!
I’m so glad you came. And I’m really, really glad I was able to point out to those two men that you’d do anything for vagina.
Your post was funny, but it was your hold music that had me in giggle fits.
Also, love that you posted a picture of Arloshack!
I am totally glad you came! Your post was so funny, but the I agree with Sarah, the hold music SLAYED me (Along with the upsidedown apples on your laptop! HA!)
